Players Analysis –
Shreyas Iyer –
The leader of the team has performed decently this season with 345 runs in 13 innings. He has two fifties to his name this season and his last came in the Qualifier 1 match against SRH where he took his team to the victory after scoring unbeaten 58 runs. His brilliant captaincy got his team to the top in the points table. Now a final match of this season remains in which he needs to give his best to maintain the momentum of the team.
Sunil Narine –
This man has been in excellent form this season in both the departments. In most of the matches his brilliance took the victory for the team. With the bat he has been leading runs-scorer for the team with 482 runs with the bat and has one century and three half-centuries to his name. His strike rate is 179.85 and give the team a solid start in most of the matches.
Not only with the bat but he has shown tremendous improvement in the bowling department as he has taken 17 wickets till now and economy has been excellent 6.9. His tight bowling has proved him more dangerous in the middle overs.
Venkatesh Iyer –
He has proved his worth in the middle overs with his batting and has provided some crucial knocks when the team were in danger. He has been mostly consistent with the bat and has scored 318 runs in 12 innings which includes three half-centuries. He has a strike rate of 153.62. In his last match that was in the Qualifier he scored a fantastic unbeaten knock of 51 runs in 28 balls.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk) –
In the absence of Phil Salt, he got the chance to open along with Sunil Narine. He got the chance to bat in Qualifier 1, where he scored 23 runs in 14 balls. Despite his mother’s illness, he returned to India just only to fill the space of Phil Salt, which shows his huge dedication toward the game.
Nitish Rana –
He didn’t get much chance to bat as he was injured due to which he had to sit outside. But got some healthy knocks against MI where he scored 33 runs in 23 balls. Last year in the absence of Shreyas Iyer, he got the leadership role and is one of the key batters in the middle overs.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi –
In his debut match of the IPL he scored a brilliant 54 runs in 27 balls but was not consistent in the other matches and has scored 163 runs in 7 innings. His strike rate was 155.24 in this season.
Andre Russell –
The beast in the team has a strike rate of 185 and has managed 222 in 9 innings. He carried the momentum to charge the runs in the death overs and with his power hitting, the team ended up in a good show. He has one half-century to his name and that came against SRH in the first that they played this season and he got 64 runs in 25 balls and hit 3 fours and 7 sixes.

Rinku Singh –

Ramandeep has proved himself a hard hitter in the death overs where he has a strike rate of 201.61, which is the highest among the players in the team. Though he didn’t get many chances to bat, his influential power set the bar in the end.
Mitchell Starc –
The most expensive player in the history of IPL, was shown why the team bought him in such a big amount, in the last match. His experience level showed that and took 3 early wickets of SRH in the Qualifier 1. Till now he has got 15 wickets but the economy being on the higher side which is 11.07. Again the same performance is expected by the team.
Harshit Rana –
He has carried the responsibility in the pace department after taking most wickets among the pacers in the team. He has taken 17 wickets to his name and has an economy of 9.41.
Varun Chakaravarthy –
He is the leading wicket taker from the team and has taken 20 wickets till now. In the purple cap list he is standing in 2nd place and to get the purple cap he needs to add 4 more wickets so that he can match Harshal Patel (24 wickets) record in that list. His economy also improved and is currently 8.19. He might also get some help from the Chennai wicket.
Vaibhav Arora –
He gave his assistance to Harshit Rana and Mitchell Starc in the pace department and has taken 10 wickets till now in 9 matches. With an economy of 9.33.

The leader of the team has been leading the team well throughout due to which to which the team will be playing their 3rd finals. He has one of the destructive batting units that is playing well this season.
He bowled well for his team and has taken 17 wickets to his name in 15 matches. But his economy surges up and has 9.29 till now. But he is showing his consistency in the wicket department and has got a wicket almost in every match. Also in the batting department he got a couple of decent notches and against KKR in Qualifier he scored 30 runs.
Travis Head –
He is the leading runs-scorer for the team and has scored 567 runs till now in 14 innings. He has one century and four half-centuries to his name and has a strike rate of 192.20. He went more aggressive when he batted first but in the second innings his strike rate dropped down a little.
Abhishek Sharma –
This another left hander opener of the team is not less than a beast as he scored 482 runs till now with a strike rate of 207.76 in 15 matches. In this he scored 3 fifties and the best was against LSG where he scored unbeaten 75 runs. He showed his excellency in the batting department but in the last match (Qualifier 2) he showed his brilliancy in the bowling department after taking 2 wickets in his 4 overs by giving away 24 runs.
Rahul Tripathi –
Though he didn’t get many chances to play, in the last two matches he scored 55 runs and 37 runs and had a strike rate of 184. He added more value in the middle overs. Also his half-century against KKR in Qualifier 1, will boost him to play in the finals.
Aiden Markram –
This season he has been cold most of the time with only 200 runs in 10 matches in which he got one 50+ knock and that came against CSK. Though his experience will make a count and carries the tendency to stay long in this format.
Heinrich Klaasen (wk) –
The other Proteas batter in the team has been one of the beasts in the middle overs and provides stability to the team in those overs. In the last match also he showed his brilliance after scoring 50 runs in 34 balls against RR and provided the team a decent total to defend. He has 463 runs to his name with a strike rate of 176.05. In this season, he got four half-centuries.
Nitish Kumar Reddy –
In his first season of the IPL, he impressed in both the departments especially in the batting side. He has scored 2 half-centuries with total runs of 290. Shahbaz Ahmed –
