SRH outshines MI in run-fest showdown

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) created some records after defeating Mumbai Indians (MI) in a run fest match by 31 runs.

Sunrisers scored the highest score in IPL 277 runs in 20 overs by losing 3 wickets while in reply MI got 246 runs in 20 overs by losing 5 wickets. The previous highest total was set by RCB which was 263 runs in 2013. 

Mumbai lost their first encounter against GT by 6 runs while Sunrisers lost their first match against KKR by 4 runs

Record set by Hyderabad batsmen today. Firstly Travis Head (62 runs) scored the fastest half-century for Sunrisers in 18 balls. But the record lasted just for a few minutes as Abhishek Sharma (63 runs) scored his half-century in just 16 balls and got his name in the fastest one for Hyderabad. 

Head hit 9 fours and 3 sixes in his 24 balls knock whereas Abhishek hit 3 fours and 7 sixes in his 23 balls knock. 

Then there came the beast Heinrich Klaasen (80 runs not out) who currently holds the orange cap after this destructive innings. He just took each bowler he faced. In his 34 balls knock, he hit 4 fours and 7 sixes. He was well assisted by Aiden Markram (42 runs not out) on the other end. Both of them got 116 uneaten partnership for the 4th wicket in just 54 balls.

Each of the Mumbai bowlers bashed heavily. Youngster Kwena Maphaka in his 4 overs conceded 66 runs in his debut match. Hardik Pandya, Gerald Coetzee and Piyush Chawla got 1 wicket each and each of them has an economy over 11 runs per over at least. 

In the chase, Mumbai got the start for which it was required. Openers Rohit Sharma (26 runs) and Ishan Kishan (34 runs) got 56 runs in 3.2 overs. Then Tilak Varma (64 runs) showed some fight against the giant target. He played 34 balls and hit 2 fours and 6 sixes. 

In the end, Tim David (4 not out) showed some little firecrackers with the bat. But it was not enough to get that huge target. 

Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat got 2 wickets each. Shahbaz Ahmed got 1 wicket.
