RCB halts SRH’s rampage by 35 runs

Finally after 7 losses back to back Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) got their 2nd victory of the season after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 35 runs.   

Royals scored 206/7 in 20 overs and Sunrisers only managed 171/8 in 20 overs. A totally unexpected as the bowling of Challengers were seen weak in this season while the Sunrisers strength is their batting. Things changed a little in today’s match.   

When these two met against each other earlier in this season huge runs were raining from both the sides, where Hyderabad scored the highest score in IPL and also won the match but by a mere margin of 25 runs only. 

After winning the toss, Bengaluru goes for bowling. 

A power hitting showed from the starting as the openers posted 48 runs in 3.5 overs. Faf du Plessis scored 25 runs whereas Virat Kohli continued his run machine and scored another half-century in this season. He scored 51 runs but took 43 balls to reach there and hit 4 fours and a six.

Rajat Patidar supported him from the other end with his destructive batting as he scored 50 runs in just 20 balls. In his knock he hit 2 fours and 5 sixes. Both of them together added 65 runs for the 3rd wicket. But due to a blasting effort from Cameron Green the team got past 200 mark. He went unbeaten and scored 37 runs in 20 balls in which 5 boundaries were there. 

Jaydev Unadkat got 3 wickets while T Natarajan got 2 wickets. Mayank Markande and Pat Cummins got 1 wicket each. 

An unexpected start was from Hyderabad as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Inform Travis Head only managed 1 run. Half of the team went to the pavilion at 69 runs. Abhishek Sharma continued his hard hitting and scored 31 runs in just 13 balls. 

Pat Cummins showed some destruction in his batting as he scored 31 runs in 15 balls. Shahbaz Ahmed topped the chart from the team for the highest after scoring unbeaten 40 runs in 37 balls. 

Cameron Green, Swapnil Singh and Karn Sharma got 2 wickets each. Yash Dayal and Will Jacks got 1 wicket each.
