KKR knocked down RCB in a nail-biting finish

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) emerge victorious with last minute heroics against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 1 run. 

Knight Riders scored 222/6 in 20 overs and in reply Royals scored 221/10 in 20 overs. 

In their previous encounters both teams were defeated. In their previous meet in this season Kolkata showed an easy domination during the chase and won the match. 

After winning the toss, Faf du Plessis opted to bowl first. 

Phil Salt took a blazing start to the team as he scored 48 runs in 14 balls which includes 7 fours and 3 sixes. His strike rate was super fast as he hit with a 342.86. After that the skipper Shreyas Iyer got his first half-century in this IPL after scoring 50 runs in 36 balls and hit 7 fours and a six. 

Then towards the end some healthy inputs given by Rinku Singh (24 runs in 16 balls), Andre Russell (27 runs in 20 balls) not out and Ramandeep Singh (24 runs in 9 balls) not out took the team score par 200. 

Yash Dayal and Cameron Green got 2 wickets each. Mohammad Siraj and Lockie Ferguson got 1 wicket each. 

During the chase, Bengaluru lost both their openers in just 35 runs. Then Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar got 102 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket. Jacks hit his maiden IPL half-century after scoring 55 runs in 32 balls and hit 4 fours and 5 sixes. Rajat Patidar scored 3rd fastest half-century for Bengaluru where he took 21 balls to reach there. 

He scored 52 runs in 23 balls and hit 3 fours and 5 sixes. Then it was going out of their hands after they started losing wickets one after the other. But in the last over Karn Sharma hit 3 sixes and almost clinched the victory but unfortunately he got out in the second last ball. He scored 20 runs in 7 balls. 

Andre Russell got 3 wickets while Harshit Rana and Sunil Narine  got 2 wickets each. Varun Chakravarthy and Mitchell Starc got 1 wicket each.
