KKR nail biting win in the last over against SRH

In the batsmen dominating match, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) got the upper hand in the last over thriller as they clinched the win from the mouth of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 4 runs.

Hyderabad, after winning the toss, opted to field first.

Their decision seems to be perfect as Kolkata lost their first four wickets in just 51 runs. Then Phil Salt (54 runs) who played his first match for Knight Riders balanced out the things for the team. He along with Ramandeep Singh (35 runs) contributed 54 runs for the 5th wicket.

But it was Andre Russell (64 runs not out) and Rinku Singh (23 runs) who provided 81 runs for the 7th wicket, from where the momentum shifted towards the team. Russell, a pure monster in this short format, played just 25 balls and hit 3 fours and 7 sixes.

Due to his destructive contribution the team finally ended up on 208 runs in 20 overs by losing 6 wickets.

T Natarajan took most wickets for his team as he grabbed 3 wickets. Mayank Markande got 2 wickets and Pat Cummins settled with 1.

As the target was huge, the Sunrisers got the perfect start as the openers got 60 runs in the powerplay. But the thing which pulled them down was there was no great contribution with the bat. They lost wickets at regular intervals.

Then Heinrich Klassen (63 runs) turned up the heat with his great hitting skills. He just played 29 balls and hit 8 huge sixes throughout the ground.

In the last over, 13 runs were needed and Harshit Rana came to bowl and was hitted by a six by Klassen on the very first ball. But then Rana changed the match atmosphere to his favour by giving 2 runs in the next 5 balls and got 2 important wickets of Klassen and Shahbaz Ahmed.

Sunrisers scored 204 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets.

Harshit Rana got 3 wickets whereas Russell in the bowling department also excelled as he got 2 wickets. Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine got 1 wicket each.
