Hat-Trick! RR’s winning while MI’s on the losing side

A splendid performance by Rajasthan Royals (RR) which led them to their hattrick victory in the IPL after defeating Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets. Hattrick loss for MI. 

Mumbai scored 125/9 in 20 overs and in reply Rajasthan chased down the target easily in 15.3 overs and scored 127/4.

Mumbai is yet to open their victory account. They lost two matches and their last defeat came against SRH where they lost by 31 runs. On the other hand Royals won both of their matches and their last victory came against DC by 12 runs. 

Royals skipper Sanju Samson after winning the toss goes for bowling. 

A huge setback for Mumbai at the start as they lost 4 wickets in just 20 runs. Three of them – Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir and Dewald Brevis got out on a duck. Then the highest partnership in the match for Indians was between skipper Hardik Pandya (34 runs) and Tilak Varma (32 runs) of 46 runs for the 5th wicket. 

As the skipper departed the wickets again started to fall. Tim David (17 runs) tried to put up things but he took 24 balls to reach there. 

Yuzvendra Chahal showed his perfect class of bowling as he grabbed 3 wickets by giving away just 11 runs in his 4 overs. Trent Boult also got 3 wickets. Nandre Burger settled with 2 wickets while Avesh Khan got 1 wicket. 

Since the target was easy to achieve but still they struggled in the middle. At one point they lost 3 wickets in just 48 runs. But the man in form and currently holding the orange cap Riyan Parag (54 runs not out) set the hattrick victory for his team. 

Parag played 39 balls and hit 5 fours and 3 sixes in his knock. With a boundary he got the victory. 

Akash Madhwal got 3 wickets while Kwena Maphaka got 1 wicket.
