Match 9: RR vs DC | Full Analysis | Pitch Report | Best 11

The 9th match of the tournament between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC). The match between them will start at 7:30 P.M. (IST).

Teams Analysis:

Delhi Capitals (DC):

The return of Rishabh Pant somehow boosted the team’s atmosphere. Although they lost their first match in the tournament against Punjab Kings by 4 wickets. There are no injury concerns for the team as Ishant Sharma who got injured during the last match has been declared fully fit.

All Aussies opener David Warner and Mitchell Marsh have given the team a solid start in most of the times. Marsh also can help in the bowling department also. Shai Hope played his first match for the franchise and was the highest scorer with 33 runs to his credit and a solid representation in number 3 position.

Rishabh Pant in his returning match couldn’t utilize it very well as he scored only 18 runs. But he might like to bat in Jaipur as he has scored 4 fifties in his 9 matches and batting with a strike rate of above 170. Abhishek Porel had shown the destruction in lower down the order as he scored a quick fire of 32 runs in just 10 balls in the last ball and gave his team a good addition in the death overs.

Delhi might be happy as their pace department gets more stable by the addition of Anrich Nortje, who was not there due to some personal reasons but not joined the squad. His addition will definitely help the other pacers especially Ishant Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed at the start.

Kuldeep Yadav has already shown his brilliancy in the first match where he changed the atmosphere of the match towards his team due to his economical spell. In his spell he got 2 wickets in just 20 runs in 4 overs. Axar Patel also added the side more balanced in both departments (Batting and bowling).

Probable playing 11 for the match:

Rishabh Pant (c/wk), David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Shai Hope, Abhishek Porel, Ricky Bhui, Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Sumit Kumar, Anrich Nortje.

(Impact player: Khaleel Ahmed for Abhishek Porel).

Rajasthan Royals (RR):

This team started with a great victory against LSG by 20 runs in which the captain Sanju Samson led from the front. They are looking in this tournament one of the most stable teams.

Looking at their top order, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been pretty much consistent with the bat and scored healthy runs with the bat in any situation. He plays according to the pitch and gets easy runs there. Jos Butler though has had some issues in the opening in recent times but has the capacity to go on top when he gets settled down easily. Sanju Samson has already shown his destruction in the first match where he scored unbeaten 82 runs and took his team to a respectable total at the end.

They are huge hard hitters. The Caribbean duo of Rovman Powell and Shimron Hetmyer has the capacity to boost the run rate anytime. In the last match Riyan Parag showed in his 43 runs innings how much destruction he can create.

The bowling department has some big names. Trent Boult was brilliant in the initial and death overs and also got 2 wickets in the first match. Ravichandran Ashwin is even more dangerous if the pitch gets some assistance for the spinners. In Jaipur under the lights, the ball will get some turn resulting in helping the spinners.

Yuzvendra Chahal is currently their best bowling option. He might also be dangerous in the turning pitches. But it was Sandeep Sharma who came as an impact player and changed the match atmosphere towards the team. Though he got only 1 wicket in his 3 overs, the wicket he got was KL Rahul, who looked settled and hit some easy shots.
