Big names snubbed from Australia’s central contract

Cricket Australia (CA) announced the list of 23 players for the central contract. Some huge names are missing from the list as compared to the last one while some new names were included there. 

David Warner, Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Agar, Marcus Harris and Micheal Neser are the names who have been ruled out from the list of contracted players. They were seen in the previous list. 

David Warner was expected to be excluded as he already retired from ODI and Test cricket and will take full retirement after playing the T20 World Cup. On the other hand, Marcus Stoinis is in contention to play the T20 World Cup which will start in June after being excluded from the 2023 ODI World Cup. he is currently playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL.  

National selection chairman George Bailey said, Matt, Aaron and Xavier have been extremely impressive in the early stages of their international careers. Their performances and the way they have embraced the international stage has been exciting to watch. The panel believes they have strong futures and are deserved of their contracts as they work towards striving to become regulars in the Australian setup.

The national side has a busy schedule coming up. First they will play the T20 World Cup in USA and West Indies and then towards the end of the year they will have a series against India.
