RR’s commanding performance leaves LSG in dust

Rajasthan Royals (RR) started their IPL journey with a victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 20 runs. 

After winning the toss, Rajasthan goes for batting. 

The skipper Sanju Samson (82 runs not out) led from the front and scored a brilliant half century. He played just 52 balls and hit 3 fours and 6 sixes in his knock. He was well supported by Riyan Parag (43 runs) from the other end. Both of them contributed 93 runs for the 3rd wicket. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal (24 runs) started the innings in a destructive style but was unable to convert it into a big one. In the end, the team scored 193 runs in 20 overs by losing 4 wickets. 

Naveen-ul-Haq got 2 wickets whereas Mohsin Khan and Ravi Bishnoi got 1 wicket. 

Lucknow during the chase, struggled at the start as they lost 4 wickets in just 60 runs. But then skipper KL Rahul (58 runs) and Nicholas Pooran (64 runs not out) put 85 runs for the 5th wicket. At the time when both of them were on the crease it was still look possible to chase down the target but as the skipper departed, the momentum suddenly changed towards the opposition.

Finally they put down 173 runs in 20 overs by losing 6 wickets. 

Trent Boult got 2 wickets while Nandre Burger, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sandeep Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin got 1 wicket each.
