Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) destructive batting performance and brilliant bowling registered their 2nd victory of the tournament as they defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets.
Chennai scored 165/5 in 20 overs and Hyderabad chased down the target in 18.1 overs and made 166/4.
Both the teams lost their last match. Chennai was stopped by DC when Capitals defeated them by 20 runs and Hyderabad’s dominance was stopped by GT as Gujarat got an easy win by 7 wickets.
Sunrisers skipper Pat Cummins got the toss in his favour and he chose to chase.
Shivam Dube scored most runs for the team as he credited 45 runs with the bat. He played aggressively as he took just 24 balls to reach and hit 2 fours and 4 sixes. He was well supported by Ajinkya Rahane who got 35 runs with the bat and both of them added 65 runs for the 3rd wicket.
Towards the end, Ravindra Jadeja’s strikeful unbeaten 31 runs took the team to 160 par.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Pat Cummins, Shahbaz Ahmed and Jaydev Unadkat got 1 wicket each.
During the chase, Hyderabad showed their bashing power again and reached 100 under 10 overs. Travis Head (31 runs) and Abhishek Sharma (37 runs) showed no mercy at the start, especially Sharma who just played 12 balls and hit 3 fours and 4 sixes.
But suddenly the things got a little bit pressured as they lost 3 wickets back to back by adding 35 runs to their score in the middle. Aiden Markram scored his first fifty of this season as he scored 50 runs.
Since they got a blasting start it didn’t bother them much and finally with the help of Nitish Reddy’s (14 runs not out) six they got the victory.
Moeen Ali got 2 wickets while Deepak Chahar and Maheesh Theekshana got 1 wicket each.
