Shah Announces Dravid’s Extension Till T20 World Cup

India coach Rahul Dravid will be seen coaching the team till T20 World Cup as confirmed by the BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

Dravid as the coach for the national team ended after the 2023 ODI World Cup but got extended later on by the BCCI during the South Africa tour later on. But the exact tenure for his extension was not fixed by the board.

So to come with a reply Mr Shah during a recent event in Rajkot said that Rahul will be there at least till T20 World Cup and the further will be talk after the tournament since there was back to back series going on and they were not able to make any contact.

“After the 2023 ODI World Cup, Rahul bhai had to leave for the South Africa tour immediately. We did not get to meet in between which finally happened today. Why are you worried about a contract for such a senior person like Rahul Dravid? Rahul bhai will remain the coach in the T20 World Cup.

I will speak with him whenever there is time, there are back-to-back series happening right now. They were in South Africa, then there was a (T20I) series against Afghanistan and now England. We did not get to speak in between at all.”

Mr Shah not only ended there but also confirmed the news about Rohit that he will be the skipper of the Men In Blue for the 2024 T20 World Cup and also showed his belief on Virat Kohli’s absence from the team that he will join the team soon.
