The 8th match of the tournament between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The match between them will start at 7:30 P.M. (IST).
Teams Analysis:
Mumbai Indians (MI):
Mumbai Indians have registered their huge fans first for Sachin Tendulkar and now for Rohit Sharma. The new captain of the team, Hardik, has a huge responsibility on his shoulder to carry the legacy ahead.
Although they were looking for an easy win over GT, unfortunately after Rohit’s departure, the team suddenly got broken and they lost the match by 6 runs. Now they have to get back their rhythm. Suryakumar Yadav is still unavailable as he is yet to receive clearance fit from the NCA.
Rohit Sharma is looking with the shot selection in the first match and scored a healthy 43 runs in just 29 balls. He is definitely a nightmare to the bowlers in batting friendly pitches and in Hyderabad it assists batters more. Ishan Kishan is yet to show his talent. He got out on a duck in the first match.
Dewald Brevis, who is known as a replication of Ab de Villiers, scored highest individual runs in the first match. His 46 runs somehow looks like a match winning knock but suddenly the wickets start to fall from the other end. Tim David can also spark in the death overs due to the pitch conditions.
Hardik failed to capitalize in both the departments in the first match. He came to bowl in the very first over and in his 3 over spell he threw away 30 runs. In batting he came at number 7, and in the last over when the team needed 19 runs he hit a six and a four in the first two deliveries but then got out and couldn’t take the victory in his favour.
In bowling Jasprit Bumrah once again nailed it with his perfect line and length. He got 3 wickets in his 4 overs by giving away only 14 runs. He is the only reason that GT couldn’t score much. Piyush Chawla is team’s main spinner and has a decent record against Sunrisers opener Mayank Agarwal whom he dismissed 9 times.
Gerald Coetzee also shines in the first match as he grabbed 2 wickets in his 4 overs by giving away 27 runs. He can also contribute with the bat in the death overs and has a huge power hitting capacity.
Probable playing 11 for the match:
Hardik Pandya ©, Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wk), Tilak Varma, Naman Dhir, Tim David, Shams Mulani, Gerald Coetzee, Piyush Chawla, Jasprit Bumrah, Luke Wood.
(Impact player: Dewald Brevis for Luke Wood).
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):
In their first match against KKR they showed they didn’t like to give up till the last ball. Although they lost the match against them by 4 runs, they still bounced back as the team struggled when they lost 4 wickets in a span of 51 runs.
But it was Heinrich Klassen who pulled up the show for the team but unfortunately got out in the 2nd last ball and the team lost the match. Also the Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has yet to join the team and there is no confirmation about when he will join.
Openers Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma played quite well in the first match. Both of them scored 32 runs. But Mayank has a little problematic situation against Piyush Chawla as he was dismissed 9 times. Rahul Tripathi has a pathetic season going from 2023. He was unable to score many runs and only scored a single 50+ score last season.
Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klassen the two Proteas can hit out the stadium anytime. Both of them have the capacity to score big. Klassen already showed in the first match against KKR, where he scored 63 runs in 29 balls and hit 8 huge sixes. Both of them are beast, especially in the death overs.
Bhuvenshwar Kumar, though didn’t bowled well in the first match as he conceded 51 runs in his 4 overs but still he can be dangerous in the first few overs. On the other hand, skipper Pat Cummins also had a better display of bowling against Ishan Kishan where he dismissed him 4 times.
Probably playing 11 for the Match:
Pat Cummins ©, Mayank Agarwal, Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klassen, Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande.
(Impact player: T Natarajan for Abhishek Sharma).
