When these two met against each other in this season, a high scoring match was seen where Jos Butler demolished Sunil Narine’s century by his century and the team won the match in the last moments.

Teams Analysis:

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR):

They were the first team who got the Playoffs reservation. They will finish the points table in top 2 places. Therefore it is confirmed that they will play Qualifier 1. They are having the perfect team combination as both the departments are performing equally well. The only thing that might make a problem is Phil Salt’s return to England. Rahmanullah Gurbaz might replace him.

Sunil Narine has shown brilliant contribution in both the departments. He has scored the most runs for the team and got 461 runs with the bat and with the bowl he has 15 wickets to his name with an economy of 6.64. He is the perfect MVP of the team. He is showing his full aggression in both the departments as his strike rate is 182.94 in which he scored one century and 3 half-centuries.

Venkatesh Iyer has shown some valuable runs in the middle overs and has managed 267 runs with two half-centuries to his name. He has a strike rate of 149.16. Skipper Shreyas Iyer has performed decently till now with 287 runs to his credit in which he scored one half-century. He is mostly seen providing stability to the team and other batters show their hard hitting.

Rinku Singh failed to show his class of destructiveness in the death overs as his strike rate is 148.67. Andre Russell has been tactically brilliant in both the departments. He has scored 222 runs with the bat with a strike rate of 185. He scored one half-century in this season that came against SRH, in the first match that they played. While with the bowl he has taken 15 wickets till now. Ramandeep Singh has shown more consistency than others in the death overs as his strike rate surges to 201.16.

Varun Chakaravarthy is leading the team in wickets department with 18 wickets to his name. At the start of the season he was little expensive, but as the season progressed he got his rhythm and currently has 8.34 economy. Whereas Harshit Rana is leading the way in the pace department with 16 wickets to his name. His economy is little on the higher side which is 9.72.

Rajasthan Royals (RR):

They have already qualified for the Playoffs but to finish in the top 2, they need to win this match which will ensure their chance to play Qualifier 1. At the start of the season, they were one of the strongest teams but in the last four matches they were unable to register any victory.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has seen many ups and downs with the bat. At the start of the season he was unable to convert his innings to a big one, then towards the mid he scored a brilliant century against MI and towards the end he again struggled to score runs. Till now he managed 348 runs.

Skipper Sanju Samson has been brilliant with the bat and has scored 504 runs with a strike rate of 156.52. He scored five fifties with an average of 56. Along with the skipper, Riyan Parag supported him very well in the runs department with 531 runs and is the most run scorer from the team. He is batting with an average of 59 and has got four 50+ knocks. Both these are the pillars in this season for the team in this season throughout.

Dhruv Jurel lacks the consistency in his batting as he managed just one half-century in his 7 innings. On the other hand, Shimron Hetmyer has a little niggle due to which he was not able to play but might make a comeback in this match. Rovman Powell also failed to impress with his batting till now except against KKR.

Yuzvendra Chahal once again topped the list for most wickets from the team with 17 wickets to his name. He is currently in the 6th place in the purple cap list. Whereas the pacers Avesh Khan and Trent Boult claimed 13 and 12 wickets respectively. Sandeep Sharma has provided some crucial wickets when the team needed the most and took 10 wickets till now.

Pitch Report:

The match will be played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. It is a high scoring pitch where the batters find easy to score runs. But in the last match it was considered a little low scoring match and Punjab chased down the target easily. Spinners might get some good hold which will be beneficial for both the team as both the teams have quality spinners.

The weather is under the shadow of rain as there is expected to be around 50% chance of rain. This will definitely destroy the match atmosphere. Humidity will be also high and will be close to 73%.
