The 40th match of the tournament between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT). The match between them will start at 7:30 P.M. (IST).
In their previous encounter in this season, Delhi got merciless against Gujarat and got a clinical victory.
Teams Analysis:
Delhi Capitals (DC):
As this team looked on a winning track, then got a setback in their last match against SRH where they were treated brutally by the Sunrisers batters. They are on the 8th spot with 6 points in 8 matches. They won 3 and lost 5 till now. The team’s performance has been decent but there were little errors which they needed to fix. Due to this a combined effort from the team is missing.
David Warner has been constantly failing after he scored a half-century against CSK. He mostly got out in the powerplay which is his main weakness coming this season. Till now he only scored 167 runs which is only justifying his status of batting. Prithvi Shaw’s performance has been in and out throughout the season. In the last couple of matches he also got out early. He got 174 runs till now with a strike rate of 162.62.
Rishabh Pant is little consistent with his batting as he scored the most runs for his team. He is the only batter in the team who till now got past 200 runs as he got 254 runs which includes 2 half-centuries. He batted with ease and contributed well.
Jake Fraser-McGurk is a blessing in disguise for the team. He only played 3 matches and scored two 50+ scores till now. In the last match he scored the fastest half-century for DC for which he took just 15 balls to reach. In IPL he is the 3rd fastest. His strike rate is 222.22 which supports the team in terms of destruction. Another destructive player in the team Tristan Stubbs has a strike rate of 180.91, but he is yet to make his consistency with the bat. Though he scored 2 half-centuries till now, he needs to be there especially in the death overs so that a huge score can be scored.
Axar Patel is yet to score big with the bat but with the bowl he has been better. In 8 Matches he got 6 wickets with a brilliant economy of 6.82. Last season he was excellent with the bat also but this season he had an upset in this department.
Kuldeep Yadav has been phenomenal with his bowling as he is currently the highest wicket-taker in the team after grabbing 10 wickets till now. In the last match where Hyderabad batters showed ruthlessness against the bowlers, he was one who took the first 3 wickets and made the team come back into the match. Khaleel Ahmed though got the same amount of wickets as Kuldeep got but he has been mostly expensive in his spells which is 9.03. He needs to be little consistent with his line and length especially in the death overs.
Mukesh Kumar took 9 wickets in his matches but the same thing repeats here also as his economy is 10.4. Anrich Nortje, one of the best bowlers in the world, has an economy close to 13, which ultimately puts pressure on the team itself.
Probable playing 11 for the match:
Rishabh Pant (c/wk), David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Tristan Stubbs, Abhishek Porel, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Anrich Nortje.
(Impact Player: Sumit Kumar)
Gujarat Titans (GT):
Gujarat is maintaining their hopes to get to the playoffs. They are currently 6th in the points table with 4 wins and 4 losses in 8 matches. The team’s bowling line-up has been better as compared to that of their batting. Except Shubman and Sudharsan none of the other batters showed their responsibility in the team.
Shubman Gill is mostly consistent with his batting and is currently the team’s highest scorer with 298 runs and is 6th in the list of orange cap. His best was against PBKS when he scored 89 runs and got not out till the end. He is striking with 146.80 till now in this season. Wriddhiman Saha has been in poor form in this season he got out under the powerplay. In a couple of matches he got a destructive start but was unable to carry that much longer. His best is 25 runs.
B Sai Sudharsan provided valuable runs to the team in most of the matches but was unable to get past the 50 runs mark yet. He has 269 runs with a strike rate of 122.27. He scored a couple of 40’s and many 30’s. Rahul Tewatia performed brilliantly in a couple of matches and his powerful hitting in the last match where he scored unbeaten 36 runs in 18 balls took his team to the victory.
David Miller is yet to find his consistency except against SRH he looked a little solid where he took his team to victory after scoring unbeaten 44 runs. But in the remaining 4 matches he only managed 39 more runs.
Mohit Sharma is the team’s leading wicket-taker in this season with 10 wickets under his pocket. But his economy is tending towards the higher side which is 9.19. Rashid Khan on the other hand is moving towards his best as he got 8 wickets with the economy being improved and has 7.27. Not only this he also contributed well with his batting and played a match winning knock against RR.
R Sai Kishore played his first match of the season and took 4 wickets against PBKS.
Probably playing 11 for the Match:
Shubman Gill ©, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), B Sai Sudharsan, David Miller, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rahul Tewatia, Shahrukh Khan, Rashid Khan, Mohit Sharma, R Sai Kishore, Spencer Johnson.

Pitch Report:
The match will be played at Arun Jaitley stadium, Delhi. It has been a balanced pitch which offers both to the batters as well as to the bowlers. Spinners can find a turn and the pitch will act slow. But due to the short boundaries, batsmen can target that part and score huge runs with boundaries and sixes. Therefore chasing might be a better option.
Weather Report:
The weather will remain sunny as the temperature in the daytime will touch 39 degree celsius while the temperature at night will touch 25 degree celsius. Humidity will be less than 20%, making it comfortable for the players to play easily.
Best 11 for the Match:
Rishabh Pant, David Warner, Shubman Gill, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sai Sudharsan, Axar Patel, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Rashid Khan, Khaleel Ahmed.
