India (IND) Analysis:

India is the only team in the World Cup who has been undefeated. They are showing their class in this tournament. They are brilliant in every department, whether it’s batting, bowling or fielding they have been excellent in the field. The main winning formula for the team is that they are performing as a team. Until their last match they have been winning while chasing but in the last match they won while defending.

Rohit Sharma the Indian skipper is leading from the front in the run department. He is the top run-scorer from the side with 398 runs. He hit 1 century and 2 half centuries till now in the tournament with a healthy strike rate of 119.16. Against England in the last match where batters from both sides found it difficult to score, there he scored a brilliant 87 runs innings. Shubman Gill the star batter from the side has been little inconsistent with just one half century in 4 matches and that came against Bangladesh.

Virat Kohli, one of the most trusted batsmen from the side has  been a beast during chasing. He has 1 century and 3 half centuries to his name and scored 354 runs. Once he gets settled down then he places the ball well between the fielders and conversion of runs is also commendable. Shreyas Iyer has not shown his consistency with the bat as he scored just one half century which was against Pakistan and some 20’s and 30’s but unable to convert his innings into a big one. He needs to be more precise with the shot execution.

KL Rahul  is now the Mr Dependable of the team. He has a calm and composure nature and plays according to the situation demands. He has batted in 5 matches out of 6 and in those 5 matches he remained not out 3 times. He scored 216 runs with an average of 108. His highest score is 97 runs. Hardik Pandya is one of the greatest hard hitters in the death overs and a good pace bowler. Due to his injury he remained out and played just 4 matches where he got 5 wickets.

Ishan Kishan played 2 matches in the starting and against Afghanistan he played a decent knock of 47 runs. He might be seen in place of Shreyas Iyer.

Suryakumar Yadav, India’s most successful T20 batsman, has shown improvement in the ODI’s. Against England in the last match he scored a valuable 49 runs in the end and took India to 200+ runs. Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling in the middle overs has been one of the toughest to play by the opposition. He has got 8 wickets with an impressive economy of 3.76, which is the best economy amongst the Indian bowlers. Also he can bat well and played a match winning knock of 39 runs against New Zealand.

Mohammad Shami has made his comeback sound pretty high as he got 9 wickets in just 2 matches with an commendable average of 8.44. He is one of most experienced bowlers in the squad, which he already shows in the 2 matches he played. Jasprit Bumrah is showing his aggressiveness through his wicket taking ability. He has 14 wickets till now with an economy of 3.92, also his average is quite good which is 15.07. Batters find him difficult to play. Mohammad Siraj has not looked 100% as he conceded too many runs in the powerplay which is hard to see from him in the last 2-3 years.

Kuldeep Yadav the only main spinner from the side has 10 wickets to his name with 4.5 economy. In the last match against England, he bowled Jos Butler which is considered to be the ball of the World Cup. Ravichandran Ashwin played just one match which was against Australia where he got 1 wickets by giving away 34 runs only. Shardul Thakur hasn’t been quite impressive with his bowling due to which he has to sit outside.

Predicted 11 for the Match:

Rohit Sharma ©, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer/Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj.

Sri Lanka (SL) Analysis:

Sri Lanka’s chances for the Semi Final have remained in a thin thread. After their loss against Afghanistan they were in a dangerous position. They not only have to win all the remaining matches but also they have to depend on other matches too. Still they have a positive mindset after starting their journey in a drastic loss and now they are somehow back on the track.

Pathum Nissanka has been batting tremendously well in this tournament. He scored back to back 4 half centuries and scored 5 40+ runs in the last 5 matches. He has 289 runs to his credit and gave his team a solid start in every match except the first one, where he got out in a zero. Dimuth Karunaratne played his first match against Afghanistan but was not able to score much as he scored just 15 runs. Kusal Perera was disappointed with his performance as he was unable to score many runs. His best performance in the World Cup was against Australia where he scored 78 runs.

Kusal Mendis, the leader of the team, started the journey with a half century and then followed by a century, but after that his bat remained dry with the runs. In the last match against Afghanistan he scored 39 runs but was not able to convert that into a big one. He has scored 268 runs till now. Sadeera Samarawickrama has been performing well and is currently the leading run scorer from the side with 331 runs which includes 1 century and 2 half centuries. He is scoring well in the middle overs and a match winner for the team.

Charith Asalanka, the destructive batsman from the side, has scored 79 runs against South Africa in the first match. But after that innings he was unable to score much and got out early. He has couple of 20’s but needs to spend more sticking time to the pitch. Dhananjaya de Silva hasn’t performed in this World Cup. Neither with the bat nor with the ball, his contribution to the team win is very less. Angelo Mathews carries a huge experience in international cricket. His experience shows in the match against England where he got 2 crucial wickets.

Dilshan Madushanka has been performing consistently well in the bowling department from the side. He has 13 wickets till now in the tournament. Just needs to improve his economy a little bit, which is 6.12. Kasun Rajitha has 8 wickets in his pocket till now. After getting bashed in the first match against South Africa where he gave 90 runs he made a strong comeback and in the last three matches he is bowling tremendously well.

Maheesh Theekshana just got 3 wickets and his performance till now has not been up to the mark. He is a great spinner from the side but his line and length is still missing. Dushmantha Chameera played in the last match but was unable to get any wicket in that match. Dunith Wellalage the young lad from the side has shown some brilliant all round performance in the Asia Cup but here in this tournament he failed miserably in both the departments.

Predicted 11 for the Match:

Kusal Mendis (c/wk), Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Perera, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Angelo Mathews, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Kasun Rajitha, Dilshan Madushanaka.
