Match 32: GT vs DC | Full Analysis | Pitch Report | Best 11

The 32nd match of the tournament between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC). The match between them will start at 7:30 P.M. (IST).

Teams Analysis:

Gujarat Titans (GT):

This team has had a balanced performance till now. They won 3 and lost 3 in their 6 matches and are placed 6th in the points table. After getting an ample amount of rest they will now feel fresh. Out of the 3 matches that they won, 2 of them were close encounters. The last encounter was also the witness where Rashid Khan’s last ball boundary clinched the victory from RR.

Their batting seems to be a little balanced. The skipper Shubman Gill is leading from the front and scored most runs for the team this season till now. He has registered 255 runs with an average of 51. He is the only batter in the team who gets past the 50 runs mark. He did this twice in this season and his best was against PBKS where he got 89 runs. B Sai Sudharsan has been performing decently till now with 226 runs under his credit. He scored a couple of 40’s and many 30’s, but couldn’t take those to much longer. His strike rate is 127.68.

The main problem for the team is ineffective performance of the keepers in their batting. They had tried three – Wriddhimann Saha, Matthew Wade and Sharath BR and none of them capitalized it well. As David Miller is not playing due to the slight niggle, he might be seen joining the team again. His aggressiveness helped the team a lot especially in the death overs. In his place Williamson got the chance to play in 2 matches but he couldn’t score much.

The hard hitters – Vijay Shankar and Rahul Tewatia were unable to score runs much faster. Though Tewatia played a destructive innings against RR in the last match where he got 22 runs in 11 balls. Due to his power hitting, the team chases down the target. His team needs more power hitting like this in upcoming matches.

Mohit Sharma is doing his job well by taking wickets and is currently the highest wicket-taker from the team with 8 wickets. But his economy is too poor as he conceded runs easily and is having 9.39 till now, which he needs to consider. Rashid Khan on the other hand is slowly getting back into his rhythm as he got 6 wickets till now and his economy is also improving which is below 8 now. Not only this he provides aggressive batting to the team and in the last match his batting saved the match for the team.

Umesh Yadav is also grabbing wickets but on the other hand conceding many runs. His economy is the worst among the bowlers in the team as he has 10.56 till now and has got 6 wickets.

Delhi Capitals (DC):

After several heart breaks they got to manage their 2nd win of the season. Their batting was quite okay but the bowling looked very miserable especially in the death overs. But the return of Kuldeep Yadav helped a lot. In the last match they performed well and as a result they defeated inform LSG easily. They are currently at the 9th spot with 4 points. They won 2 and lost 4 out of 6 matches.

After making his comeback, Prithvi Shaw has been exceptionally well with his bat and scored 151 runs in 4 matches with a healthy strike rate of 157.29. His best was against MI where he scored 66 runs. David Warner seems to be a little derailed from his batting performance. He started the season well and also played brilliantly against CSL where he got 52 runs. But in the last three innings he only had 18, 10 & 8.

Rishabh Pant is going well as he scored most runs for the team till now. He had got 194 runs with a strike rate of 157.72. Till now he has 2 half-centuries to his name and the best came against KKR where he scored 55 runs. Tristan Stubbs is showing his destructiveness especially in the death overs and has scored 189 runs with a healthy strike rate of 190.91. He also got 2 half-centuries till now and the best was against MI where he scored 71 runs in just 25 balls.

Jake Fraser-McGurk played his first IPL match and there he scored the maiden half-century and scored 55 runs against LSG. If he keeps going like this, then he will be a perfect scoring machine for the team.

After missing 3 matches, Kuldeep Yadav made his comeback and bowled brilliantly against LSG and grabbed 3 wickets in that match by giving away only 20 runs in his 4 overs. He currently has 6 wickets to his name with an economy of 6.75. Khaleel Ahmed has mentioned his name among the contenders in the purple cap list as he got 9 wickets till now. Though he is taking wickets but from the other side his economy is close to 9.

Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar are also supporting him from the other end. Ishant got 4 while Mukesh got 5 wickets.

Probably playing 11 for the Match:

Rishabh Pant (c/wk), David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Tristan Stubbs, Shai Hope, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar.

This match will be played at Narendra Modi stadium, Ahmedabad. This pitch acts balanced between both batters and bowlers. There is a fair amount of swing and spin for bowlers and the batters can also enjoy as the ball comes directly into the bat.
