DC’s heroic stand at LSG’s home ground

Delhi Capitals (DC) got a much needed win after defeating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 6 wickets.  

Lucknow scored 167/7 in 20 overs and Delhi in reply scored 170/4 in 18.1 overs. 

Before this Super Giants completed their hattrick win and that win came against GT when Yash Thakur grabbed a fifer and took his team to a great win. While Capitals struggled in their last two matches and their last defeat was against MI where Mumbai opened their victory account in this season. 

After winning the toss, Lucknow goes for batting. 

The team struggled immensely as they lost 7 wickets in just 94 runs and was on the verge that the whole team would settle down early. But then Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan built a great partnership of unbeaten 73 runs till the end. Badoni scored his first half-century of the season after registering 55 runs in 35 balls and remained not out till the end. 

Arshad supported him well from the other end and scored unbeaten 20 runs. Badoni hit 5 fours and a six in his knock. Due to his innings the team got par 160. KL Rahul also contributed well at the start after scoring 39 runs in 22 balls, but he didn’t get any proper support from the other end during his batting. 

Kuldeep Yadav after making his comeback bowled a splendid spell of 4 overs 20 overs and got 3 wickets. Khaleel Ahmed got 2 wickets while Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar got 1 wicket each. 

In the chase, Jake Fraser McGurk played his debut match and scored maiden half-century after scoring 55 runs in 35 balls. He hit 2 fours and 5 sixes in his knock. He was dropped when he was at 24 but after that he opted the destructive approach and started hitting sixes and boundaries. 

He along with skipper Rishabh Pant added 77 runs for the 3rd wicket. Pant scored 41 runs in just 24 balls which includes 4 fours and 2 sixes. 

Ravi Bishnoi got 2 wickets while Naveen-ul-Haq and Yash Thakur got 1 wicket each.
