Match 25: MI vs RCB | Full Analysis | Pitch Report | Best 11

The 25th match of the tournament between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The match between them will start at 7:30 P.M. (IST).

Teams Analysis:

Mumbai Indians (MI):

Finally after three back to back they managed to get a win which came against DC as they defeated them by 29 runs. Though they won the match but still their bowling doesn’t seem to be that accurate for which they were known for except Bumrah. Looking at their batting, they are playing decently till now.

Rohit Sharma has scored 118 runs till now with a blasting strike rate of 171.01. In the last match he missed his half-century just by 1 run. He has the capacity to change the stats of the game and has a huge strike rate at Wankhede. Ishan Kishan also looked good with the bat as he got 42 runs. He needs more of this kind of innings to get back his rhythm.

Suryakumar Yadav played his first match in the last game but was gone without scoring any run. He has scored 874 runs at Wankhede with a strike rate of 156.6. Tilak Varma also scored most runs for the team in this season with 127 runs under his pocket. He is the only player in the team who got past 50+ score in this IPL till now.

Hardik Pandya slowly got back to his rhythm as he got 108 runs till with the bat. In the last match he scored 39 runs but it took 33 balls to get there. His strike rate is 138.46 till now in this season. Romario Shepherd, the hard hitter in the last match showed his power hitting after scoring 39 runs in just 10 balls. He might again be looking in beast mode in the same pitch.

Jasprit Bumrah is consistent with his line and length in this season and is the only bowler in the team whose economy is under 7. He is bowling with a brilliant economy of 6.12 and has got 5 wickets till now. Gerald Coetzee has taken 7 wickets till now but with an economy of 10.62. But he bowled well in the last game and got 4 wickets.

Piyush Chawla the experienced bowler from the side has taken only 2 wickets with a poor economy of 11.5, which is hard to see by this player in IPL.

Probable playing 11 for the match:

Hardik Pandya ©, Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wk), Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Mohammad Nabi, Gerald Coetzee, Piyush Chawla, Jasprit Bumrah.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB):

This team has been searching for a win in the last three matches. They won one out of 5 matches they played till now and are standing at 9th position in the points table. Their last defeat was when Rajasthan showed an easy chase and won the match by 6 wickets. Except for Virat Kohli, none of the other players are showing their winning spirit.

Virat Kohli is leading from the front and scored 315 runs in 5 matches and wearing the orange cap. He scored one century and two half-century till now and has an average of 105.33. This man is looking to give his 100% in each match he plays, though he didn’t get the results in his favour. Faf du Plessis looked a little brilliant in the last match as he got 44 runs. He needs more of this kind of innings to support Kohli at the start.

Glenn Maxwell has terribly failed in the batting department after scoring 32 runs in 5 matches with a strike rate of 106.67. He is known for his hard hitting but till now it was seen missing from him. But he showed his consistency in the bowling department after grabbing 4 wickets with an economy of 7.38, which is the best among the bowlers in the team.

Another Aussie Cameron Green has to show his class in both the departments. He played for MI earlier and is expected to perform in this pitch. Dinesh Karthik provided some valuable runs towards the end. He is batting at a striking power of 173.08 and highest was 38 runs which came against CSK.

The team’s most experienced bowler, Mohammad Siraj has been seen struggling with his form as he conceded many runs in most of the matches. He has taken 4 wickets with an economy of 10.11. Yash Dayal has taken most wickets for his team with 5 wickets under his pocket. He has been little consistent as compared to the other pacers in the team as his economy is 8.32 and provided some early wickets to the team.

Probably playing 11 for the Match:

Faf du Plessis ©, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, Anuj Rawat (wk), Dinesh Karthik, Mayank Dagar, Reece Topley, Mohammad Siraj, Yash Dayal.
