Ben Duckett’s aggressive century helped England put on a great show at the end of day 2 of the 3rd test. The English team scored 207/2 in 35 overs and they still need 238 runs more to get par the Indian score. India ended their inning with 445/10 in 130.5 overs.
India started their day 1 score but unfortunately the centurion of day 1, Jadeja (112 runs) got out early without adding much to his previous score. Dhruv Jurel (46 runs) took his time and played a defensive knock in which he took 104 balls.
Ashwin (37 runs) again provided quality runs with the bat and Bumrah (26 runs) also added some beneficial runs at the end due to which India managed to get par 400 runs score.
Mark Wood grabbed 4 wickets while Rehan Ahmed got a couple of wickets at the end. Joe Root, James Anderson and Tom Hartley got 1 wicket each.
England at the start, especially Duckett (133 runs not out) showed no mercy to the Indian bowlers. Ollie Pope (39 runs) also supported Ben well on the other hand. Joe Root (9 runs not out) also there at the other end of the crease at the end of day’s game.
Ashwin took 1 wicket and completed the milestone of 500 wickets in Tests. Siraj got the other one.
