India’s Commanding Lead Against England on Day 3

India got into a strong position after the English got out early on the 3rd day of the 3rd test. England got all out at 319 runs in 71.1 overs and were behind from 126 runs. Home team were 192/2 at the end of the day’s game. 

The English team ended the day 2 well with their bazball style but on the 3rd day they were helpless and just added 112 more runs in the 3rd day. The centurion Ben Duckett (153 runs) couldn’t score much. Their skipper Ben Stokes (41 runs) started well but was unable to convert his innings into a big one. 

Ashwin returned to his home due to the medical emergency and was hoping that the Indian team might face a challenge in his absence. But Mohammad Siraj destroyed the opposition by grabbing 4 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets each while Bumrah and Ashwin got 1 wicket each. 

In the Indian 2nd innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal (104 runs retired hurt) again hit a fantastic century and took his team to a respectable score. He hit 9 fours and 5 sixes in his knock but had little back spasms due to which he had to walk out. Shubman Gill (65 runs not out) was there in the crease at the end along with night watchman Kuldeep Yadav (3 runs not out). They extended their lead 322 runs till now. 

Joe Root and Tom Hartley got 1 wicket each.
