A perfect domination shown by the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the home of Gujarat Titans (GT). Delhi defeated Gujarat by 6 wickets and jumped to the 6th spot while Gujarat dropped to 7th.
It was Capitals back to back win, their last was against LSG where they got an easy win over LSG while Titans also registered victory in their last encounter when they beat Punjab in the last ball.
Titans registered their lowest IPL total after getting all out in 17.3 overs and scored 89 and in reply Capitals took the aggressive stance and got the target in just 8.5 overs and scored 92/4.
After winning the toss, Rishabh Pant goes for bowling.
A totally unsatisfactorily batting performance by the Gujarat batters as they were unable to stand against the bowlers in their home match. Only three batters were able to get a double digit mark.
Rashid Khan scored the most runs for the team as he got 31 runs with the bat. The other two were B Sai Sudharsan who got 12 runs and Rahul Tewatia who scored 10 runs.
A huge rampage bowling performance shown by the Capitals. Mukesh Kumar led the way as he grabbed 3 wickets by giving away only 14 runs in his 2.3 overs. Ishant Sharma and Tristan Stubbs got 2 wickets each while Khaleel Ahmed and Axar Patel settled with 1 wicket each.
During the chase, Delhi looked too aggressive like their bowling. Jake Fraser-McGurk topped the chart with 20 runs. Due to the destructive approach they lost 4 wickets but they chased down the target before the 9 overs.
Skipper Rishabh Pant (16 runs not out) and Sumit Kumar (9 runs not out) took the final touch for the team. Skipper also performed brilliantly in his keeping as he got 4 catches today and equalled (Dinesh Karthik in 2009) the most catches taken by the Capitals in IPL.
Sandeep Warrier got 2 wickets while Rashid Khan and Spencer johnson got 1 wicket each.
