DC keeps playoff hopes alive with thrilling victory

A fantastic win by Delhi Capitals (DC) against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 20 runs and they maintained their chances for reaching the next round.

Capitals scored 221/8 in 20 overs and in reply Royals got 201/8 in 20 overs.

When these two met previously against each other, Rajasthan registered a great win against Delhi in which Riyan Parag played a brilliant innings of 82 runs, which is his highest in this season till now.

After winning the toss, Rajasthan opted to bowl first.

Jake Fraser-McGurk played his natural explosive style where he scored 50 runs in just 20 balls in which 7 fours and 3 sixes were included. Abhishek Porel also played well in his opening as he got brilliant 65 runs. In his 36 balls knock he hit 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Tristan Stubbs’ destructive knock of 41 runs in 20 balls took the team score 200 par easily. He hit 3 fours and 3 sixes.

Ravichandran Ashwin bowled brilliantly and grabbed 3 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma got 1 wicket each.

Then Sanju Samson during the chase played a superb innings of 86 runs. He played 46 balls and hit 8 fours and 6 sixes and had a strike rate of 186.96. Till the time he was there in the crease, it was looking like quite a chasing chase. But after his departure things suddenly changed and the wickets fell at regular intervals.

Samson’s out was also little controversial as he was not convinced by the catch which was taken by Shai Hope at the boundary rope. Despite the call being given by the third umpire, the pink team dugout didn’t look satisfied with the decision.

Khaleel Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar got 2 wickets each while Axar Patel and Rasikh Dar Salam got 1 wicket each.
