Match 57: SRH vs LSG | Full Analysis | Pitch Report | Best 11

The 57th match of the tournament between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The match between them will start at 7:30 P.M. (IST).

Teams Analysis:

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG):

They dropped to 5th position after losing their last match against KKR. With 12 points they are in contention to make their place in the playoffs but it’s a situation where they need to win all their matches to make their place fixed. Due to the inexperienced bowling lineup as mostly they are young, the bowling is a little weak, which was admitted by the captain in the last match. Therefore they need to make their batting unit more solid so that they can get the win quite easily.

Skipper KL Rahul is leading from the front in terms of runs scored as he got 431 runs in 11 innings with a strike rate of 141.31. He has three fifties to his name till now. In the orange cap leaderboard, this man stands at 5th in the list. He is mostly giving his team quite a good start in most of the matches. The other opening pair is what they are looking for right now as Arshin Kulkarini replaced Quinton de Kock and he scored 0 & 9 in two innings. They might again go for experienced de Kock or might go for Kyle Mayers who can give stability to the bowling unit as well.

Marcus Stoinis from being a finisher to make himself number 3 batter, where his contribution is much higher. After getting promotion in the batting order, his performance also improved and has currently 352 runs with a strike rate of 153.71 in which he got 1 century and 2 half-centuries to his name. Nicholas Pooran has an average above 50 (52.5) but didn’t get much time to bat in 3 out of 4 last matches. His fierce batting helped LSG to get a great total or can be chased easily.

Ayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda lack the consistency in the middle order due to which the run-rate gets slowed down little especially in the death overs. Whereas Krunal Pandya’s inconsistency with the bat continues while in his bowling he got 5 wickets with an economy of 7.63.

Yash Thakur the young lad in the team has taken most wickets with 11 to his name. But on the other hand, his economy is a little burden for him which is close to 11 (10.81). Mostly he was seen expensive during the death overs. Naveen-ul-Haq in the last two matches took 5 wickets and took the wickets tally to 10. Lucknow needs this kind of spell more so that they can be in the contention.

Ravi Bishnoi has taken only 7 wickets till now in 11 innings. While Mohsin Khan, despite taking 9 wickets he is mostly expensive in his spells.

Probable playing 11 for the match:

KL Rahul (c/wk), Quinton de Kock/Kyle Mayers, Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi, Naveen-ul-Haq, Yash Thakur, Mohsin Khan.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):

Like Lucknow they also need to win all their remaining matches so that their seat can be reserved. They are in the 4th seat with 12 points in 11 matches where they won 6 and lost 5. Out of their 6 wins, 5 came when they were batted first but unfortunately this didn’t happen in their last match where Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant century makes the orange army upset.

Travis Head always showed his destruction when he batted first and their his strike rate touched close to 200 but when he batted in 2nd innings his strike rate dipped to almost 120. Despite this he is currently the team’s highest scorer with 444 runs in 10 innings with a strike rate of 189.74. He got 3 half-centuries till now. Abhishek Sharma on the other hand after getting destructive starts in most of his knocks was unable to hold that momentum and got out early. He has 326 runs in which he scored just a single half-century. He has many 30s to his name but unable to convert those to a big one.

Aiden Markam due to consistent failure to score runs, Mayank Agarwal got the chance in the last match but he was unable to put runs on the board. Heinrich Klaasen has 339 runs to his credit in which get 50+ knocks thrice. He has a strike rate of 186.26 and has played equally well in both the innings.

Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 2 half-centuries in the tournament till now with 239 runs with the bat. He gave the team valuable runs in the middle and also got 3 wickets till now. Abdul Samad and Shahbaz Ahmed both have performed decently till now. Where Samad is showing destruction with the bat as his strike estate surges to 181.93 and Shahbaz is both hands well in both departments with 186 runs and 3 wickets to his pocket.

T Natarajan is currently in the 4th place in the purple cap list with 15 wickets to his name. Though his economy is 9, which he needs to make it more better for the betterment of the team. Skipper Pat Cummins has taken 13 wickets but his economy is also 9, where batters get easy runs against him.

Experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar got 9 wickets but he is also expensive in most of his spells with the economy being 9.73. Though his performance improved a lot in the last few matches. Overall bowling is their weakest point, which can be easily predicted as despite scoring two highest scores in the IPL in this season they got the win just by 20s and 30s.

Pitch Report:

The match will be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. This is also one of those pitches which offers huge support to the batters. Here easily sixes and fours can be seen. A voltage encounter is expected from both the sides as both sides have hard hitters who can score big runs.

Weather Report:

The weather is little on the rainy side as it is expected that there is a 40% chance that rain might come. So if it happens then it is hard to say whether the full 40 overs can be seen or not. Temperature will be 37 degree celsius during daytime and 27 degree celsius during night. Scattered thunderstorms are also expected. Humidity will also be close to 50%.
