Yuvraj Drops a Bombshell on Ashwin’s White Ball Cricket

One of the finest cricketers in white ball cricket Yuvraj Singh doesn’t see the future of R Ashwin on white ball cricket.

Yuvraj who was the Player of the tournament in the 2011 World Cup in an interview with Times of India he thought that Ashwin can be beneficial for the team in bowling department only but he couldn’t contribute much with the bat and also in the fielding which put him in little disadvantage.

“Ashwin is a great bowler but I don’t think he deserves a place in ODIs and T20s. He is very good with the ball, but what does he bring with the bat? Or as a fielder? In the test team, yes he should be there, but in white ball cricket, I don’t think he deserves a place.”

Yuvraj who hit six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad in the 2007 T20 World Cup also revealed that there are many options of captains in the T20s other than Hardik Pandya.

“Hardik is a very important member of the team and India needs him, but he is injury prone and we need time to recuperate and settle down. We have to get the best out of him. As for captaincy, we need to have more options. There is Suryakumar Yadav, who has been captaining India in T20s. Shubman Gill, who will be the captain in the IPL.”
