Suryakumar Yadav’s historic record equals Kohli

In the 2nd T20 between India and South Africa, Suryakumar Yadav joined hands with legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli. He equalled the fastest 2000 runs in the shortest format, where both of them took 56 innings to get that milestone.

He is currently leading the team in the T20 series against South Africa in their place. In the 2nd match he made 56 runs but unfortunately the team got defeated by 5 wickets (D/L method) from the host nation.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, both topped the chart as both of them completed 2000 runs in 52 runs. But in terms of balls played Surya got the upper hand from all of them as he played 1164 balls to get that milestone and became the first who achieved this in fewer balls.

Earlier in his captaincy he defeated Australia by 4-1 and made a sparkling start to his captainship career. And now after getting defeated by the Proteas in the 2nd T20, they are 1-0 behind and only one match left to equalize the series. The first match was washed out without a ball being bowled.
