Shubman Gill’s Spectacular Rescue Mission on day 3

India was on a commanding stage at the end of day 3 with the help of Shubman Gill’s century. India scored 255/10 in their 2nd innings and took their lead to 398 runs. England at the end of the day put 67/1 and needed 332 runs more.

India started their 2nd innings where Rohit Sharma (13 runs) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (17 runs) ended on day 2. But both of them departed early as the game started. Shubman Gill (104 runs) who was seen struggling with the bat in his recent matches, must be relieved after scoring a brilliant century. He played 147 balls and hit 11 fours and 2 sixes before departing.

Axar Patel (45 runs) contributed well with the bat and hit some beautiful shots all over the ground. Shreyas Iyer (29 runs) again couldn’t convert his innings into a big one. In the end Ashwin (29 runs) tried to take the lead 400 par, but unfortunately he couldn’t reach it.

Tom Hartley again impressed with his bowling as he grabbed 4 wickets. Rehan Ahmed also assisted him very well as he got 3 wickets while James Anderson settled with 2 wickets and one was taken by Shoaib Bashir.

During the chase, English openers started with a blast, but Ben Duckett (28 runs) got dismissed just a few overs before the end of the day’s game. Zak Crawley (29 runs not out) and Rehan Ahmed (9 runs not out) were there at the end.

Ashwin grabbed the only wicket which fell on day 3 of England.
