Former South African destructive batsman Ab de Villiers (ABD) reveals the truth behind the absence of Virat Kohli from international cricket.
During a youtube live he said that Virat is going to be a father for the second time and this time he needs to spend the time with his family.
It was highly speculated that Virat’s wife Anushka Sharma is pregnant after seeing her in several functions. But the exact reason was still unknown since there was no official announcement made by King Kohli.
In the live the Proteas destruction said when he was asked that whether Virat Kohli is fine or not, to this he replied,
“All I know is he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is happy.”
After that he further added the importance of family in Kohli’s life and revealed that he is becoming father once again, he said,
“Yes, his second child is on the way. Family time is crucial to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him. But he has made absolutely the right decision.”
Now the reason is clear why he is not seen with the Indian team. He was selected for the first two Test matches against England but he requested the BCCI to take his name out from the squad due to the personal reasons for which the board nodded him.
After that it was highly speculated that he will return to the team in the remaining 3 matches against the English team. But after knowing the reason which was said by de Villiers it must be expected that he will remain unavailable for the remaining 3 matches also.
Currently India is playing against England in a 5 match test series, where the English team is leading by 1-0 as they won the first match in Hyderabad by 28 runs.
