Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Shah Khawar is now the next chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
He joined the post on Wednesday (24th January 2024). Zaka Ashraf was the previous chairman and resigned from the post on 19th January 2024.
Current caretaker of Pakistan Prime Minister, Anwaarul Haq Kakar accepted the appointment of the new chairperson. Shah also holds the post of being the Election Commissioner of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The board said, “According to the notification dated 23 January 2024 from the Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Ministry and by virtue of Article 7(2) of the Pakistan Cricket Board Constitution, the Election Commissioner is vested with the powers of Chairman PCB.”
He will serve in this post for a short term as it is expected until the next person is to be appointed.
