The 62nd match of the tournament between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC). The match between them will start at 7:30 P.M. (IST).

Teams Analysis:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB):

Just a few weeks back, this team was on the verge of elimination from the playoffs but now after 4 back to back wins, this team is now in contention to reach the next stage. Their last victory came against Punjab where Virat Kohli’s brilliant 92 runs guided the team to a great total and then his brilliant fielding resulted in winning the match for the team.

Virat Kohli is in absolute form and is currently the leading run-scorer with 634 runs. He played 12 matches and had a strike rate of 153.51. He has hit one century and 5 half-centuries till now with an average of 70.44. Skipper Faf du Plessis has scored 361 runs with a strike rate of 171.09 in which he has hit 3 half-centuries. In his last few knocks he looked more aggressive than before.

Will Jacks apart from his century against GT, he was not able to show his class in batting. Till now he managed only 189 runs in 7 innings with a strike rate of 185.29. On the other hand, Rajat Patidar has scored 4 half-centuries till now and has scored 268 runs. His four 50+ knocks came against when he played outside Bengaluru, so in this match he needed to step up more in his batting.

Dinesh Karthik is playing brilliantly as a finisher, as his strike rate is 196.73. In 10 innings he scored 301 runs and got past 50+ twice. His best in this season was against SRH where he scored 83 runs and that came in Bengaluru, therefore another destructive knock can be expected. Cameron Green after failing to score runs with the bat he scored a brilliant 46 runs against Punjab in the last match, while in his bowling he took 7 wickets till now.

Since at the start of the season their bowling was looking a little weak but this has been overcome in the recent few matches where they looked more disciplined than before. Mohammad Siraj, after a drastic start to the season has been looking in better rhythm after taking 11 wickets till now. In the last 3 matches he took 6 wickets.

Yash Dayal is team’s 2nd leading wicket-taker with 10 wickets to his name and has an economy of 9, this season. Spinners Karn Sharma and Swapnil Singh have provided some match saving breakthroughs in their spells. Karn took 6 while Swapnil got 5 wickets.

Probable playing 11 for the match:

Faf du Plessis ©, Virat Kohli, Will Jacks, Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Mahipal Lomror, Swapnil Singh, Karn Sharma, Mohammad Siraj, Lockie Ferguson.

(Impact Player: Yash Dayal)

Delhi Capitals (DC):

They are in a fighting position to get a secured place in the Playoffs. At 5th place, they secured 12 points in 12 matches in which they won 6 and lost 6. It’s a do or die match for them as they need victories in both the remaining matches so that they can move to the next round. In the last match also, where they won the match after being on the back foot for a certain amount of time, especially in the middle overs against RR.

Jake Fraser-McGurk has been in lethal form and with a strike rate of 235.88 he scored 309 runs in which he got 50+ innings four times. His best came against MI where he hit 84 runs in just 27 balls. With the form he is having in this season, he is giving his team a destructive start. Abhishek Porel on the other hand has given him good support in the last match where he scored brilliant 65 runs. He has till now 267 runs and has hit one half-century.

Skipper Rishabh Pant has been in good touch with the bat as he got the most runs for his team. He has currently scored 413 runs in which he scored 3 half-centuries. He has a strike rate of 156.44 and played handy knocks in the middle order. But will not play this match as BCCI banned him for one match due to the slow overrate and also fined him 30% of the match fees. Due to which Axar Patel was appointed as the leader of the team.

Shai Hope and Axar Patel, both seem to have some struggle in the middle order as both were unable to put runs with the bat. But Axar has been pretty consistent with the ball, as he took 10 wickets till now with an economy of 7.33.

Tristan Stubbs is playing his finishing role pretty well as he scored 318 runs with a strike rate of 188.17. He has two fifties to this name. He is mostly seen in constant run providing machine in the death overs.

Mukesh Kumar is the team’s leading wicket-taker with 15 wickets to his name in 8 matches. He got wickets in all the matches he played but is mostly expensive in his spells as his economy is 10.95. Kuldeep Yadav is not much behind and has taken 14 wickets in 9 matches with an economy of 8.2. He is even more dangerous in the middle overs as batters find it difficult to play against him in these overs.

Khaleel Ahmed is also contributing well as he has taken 14 wickets in 12 matches he played. Rasikh Dar Salam has taken 7 wickets but has been the key bowler for the team as he took the wicket when the team needed the most.

Probably playing 11 for the Match:

Axar Patel (C), Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abhishek Porel (wk), Shai Hope, Tristan Stubbs, Lalit Yadav, Gulbadin Naib, Rasikh Dar Salam, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, Ishant Sharma.

(Impact Player: Khaleel Ahmed)

Pitch Report:

The match will be played at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Due to the short boundaries, batters can deliver the ball easily out of the park. A huge encounter is expected as both sides are having hard hitters. Therefore a 200+ score is easily targeted. Chasing might be a better option if any team can restrict the opposition within 200.

Weather Report:

The weather on match day will remain partially cloudy with a 20% chance of rain. The temperature will go up by 32 degree celsius while it will go down to 22 degree celsius during night. Humidity will be above 50%.

Best 11 for the Match:

Dinesh Karthik, Virat Kohli ©, Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, Jake Fraser-McGurk (vc), Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Will Jacks, Cameron Green, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed.
