The 58th match of the tournament between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The match between them will start at 7:30 P.M. (IST).

Previously when these two teams met against each other in this season, Bengaluru registered their first victory in this season with the help of Virat Kohli’s 77 runs knock.

Teams Analysis:

Punjab Kings (PBKS):

Though the chances to reach the playoffs are very low, still they can destroy the other teams chances. They have currently 8 points in 11 matches in which they won 4 and lost 7. Towards the end their top order is working decently, which they lack in the starting matches. Bowling is little better as the pacers contribute  to the wickets taken while the spin department is also getting better.

Jonny Bairstow is looking in fine touch as he is contributing well in the top order. He has 257 runs to his credit which includes a brilliant century which resulted in a world record chase. His partner Prabhsimran Singh is also getting some handy knocks with 251 runs to his credit. He has one century to his name till now.

Shashank Singh, the man in form for Punjab has scored the most runs for the team with 315 runs in which he got past 50+ twice. He has a strike rate of 165.79. His valuable contribution is the main reason why Punjab mostly give touch fights to the team. Rilee Rossouw is yet to find his rhythm, though he played a decent inning against CSK where he scored 43 runs.

Skipper Sam Curran is mostly seen consistent in the bowling department as he got 13 wickets till now but with the bat after a solid start against DC where he scored 63 runs his bat remained silent and as a result he only managed 185 runs till now. Though his economy in bowling is close to 10, he provided some valuable wickets. Ashutosh Sharma has shown his power hitting in the death overs as his strike rate surges to 172.34.

Harshal Patel is leading the team’s table in wickets department with 17 wickets to his name and is currently 2nd in the list of purple caps. The only thing which needs to be made out better is his economy which is 9.78. Arshdeep Singh is also providing almost a neck to neck challenge with 15 wickets to his pocket. He also has the same problem, as he also conceded many runs especially in the death overs due to which his economy is 10.07.

Rahul Chahar has been brilliant in the last couple matches where he took 5 wickets till now and increased his tournament wickets to 8 in this season.

They are also on the brink to not make their place into the playoffs but they can also destroy other chances to go there. After a drastic start to the season, finally something good happened to them as they registered hattrick victories. Batting was brilliant from the start of the season but they lacked behind heavily in their bowling lineup, now which they overcame a little better.

Virat Kohli is consistent with his run proving abilities and as a result he is currently leading in the orange cap department with 542 runs. He has got 1 century and 4 half-centuries till now with an average of 67.75. He is showing his class everywhere and is a constant performer for the team. Skipper Faf du Plessis, after a drastic start to the season in his batting he finally got his rhythm and constantly showed his power hitting. With 172.55 strike rate he got 352 runs with the bat, in which he got 50+ thrice.

Will Jacks thought showing little upset with his batting but he got a brilliant century against GT where he scored 100 in 41 balls and hit 10 sixes and 5 fours. Rajat Patidar also performed a little decently with 213 runs to his credit and has scored 3 half-centuries. Glenn Maxwell is unable to get touch well with his batting and has a total of 36 runs in 7 innings but with the bat he got 5 wickets with an economy of 8.67.

Dinesh Karthik is a valuable contributor in the death overs and is most important for the team in winning contributions. He has scored 283 runs with a strike rate of 193.84. He has two fifties to his name and the best came against SRH where he scored 83 runs.

Bowling throughout the season was not that great but in the last three matches some improvement was seen. Yash Dayal was the leading wicket-taker for the team with 10 wickets. Mohammad Siraj with 8 wickets. Both of these economies are higher, as Dayal has 8.89 while Siraj has 9.26.
