LSG’s Surprise Twist: Shamar Joseph In, Mark Wood Out

West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph has now joined Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of IPL 2024 after replacing Mark Wood. Wood will not be seen in this year’s IPL.

Joseph has significantly thrown lights during the recent Australia series where he grabbed 7wickets and won the match in Gabba and made the series 1-1. Due to his insane performance Windies won the match after 26 years.

However the exact reason for Wood’s unavailability is still unknown but according to ESPNcricinfo since the T20 World Cup is coming and also England will play Test series against Sri Lanka and West Indies, therefore ECB wanted that Mark will play these series and the upcoming World Cup without any hesitation.

LSG grabbed Joseph after paying 3 crores, whereas Wood was grabbed by 7.50 crores. Also due to the injury in between the IPL 2023, Mark was unable to play all the matches.

Joseph also played for Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
