Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Ishan Kishan has been ruled out due to personal reasons. Srikar BharatBharat has been named as his replacement.
Ishan made a request to the board to make him out from the Test matches and the board accepted his request. Earlier Mohammad Shami has ruled out from the test matches due to his injury in the ankle and didn’t yet recover fully from it.
BCCI said, “Ishan Kishan has requested the BCCI to be released from the upcoming Test series against South Africa citing personal reasons. The wicket-keeper has subsequently been withdrawn from the Test squad. The men’s selection committee has named KS Bharat as a replacement.”
The 30 year old Keeper Bharat, last played his test against Australia on 7th June 2023. He is yet to score a 50+ runs in an innings. His highest is 44 runs and made 101 runs in 4 matches.
