Hardik Pandya ruled out from the World Cup

India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out from the World Cup due to the ankle injury. He will be replaced by Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna.

Pandya got injured during the match against Bangladesh, where he tried to stop the ball in his own delivery with his right leg and then he got injured. It was initially expected that he might return in the Semi Finals of the World Cup but he couldn’t get gelled up in time and so he had to leave.

The technical committee of the tournament has finally agreed to the request made by India to replace Pandya with Prasidh. Prasidh Krishna has played 17 ODIs where he took 29 wickets with an average of 25.58. His best figure was 4/12. He also created the record for best bowling figures in Debut for India where he had a spell of 4/54 against England in 2021.

India has already become the first team to qualify for the Semi Finals. They are still undefeated in the tournament with 7 wins in 7 matches and have 14 points to their credit. Now they will meet South Africa on 5th November and on 12th against Netherlands.
