Bumrah benched and Rahul returned in the 4th test

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah might be given rest for the 4th Test against England. He played all the three tests in which he bowled 80.5 overs and took 17 wickets and is currently the leading wicket-taker in the series.

Full team will be moved from Rajkot to Ranchi on Tuesday, but Bumrah will most probably be driven to Ahmedabad. He is currently in his lethal form and the English team find him difficult to pick, especially it can be seen against Ben Stokes in the 2nd Test where he was surprised by the delivery in which he got dismissed.

Like in the 2nd Test, Mohammad Siraj was given rest in Visakhapatnam where Mukesh Kumar got the chance to play. But now in Jasprit’s absence he might again be seen in the playing 11 or there might be a second thought since Mukesh was not showing his worth in that test therefore Akash Deep might also be seen to make his debut.

India is currently leading the series by 2-1 in the 5-match series. England won the 1st match by 28 runs, India grabbed the 2nd test by 106 runs and the 3rd Test by 434 runs. Now the 4th will start from 23rd February in Ranchi.

Since the T20 World Cup is near and also the Indian Premier League, the Indian pacer is given rest so that he can perform better in the bigger stage also.

Whereas KL Rahul is now 100% fit and will join the squad before the 4th Test but his playing chances are still not confirmed since all the batsmen in the playing 11 are performing well and it will be hard to make his addition into it.
