Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s wife Prithi Narayanan shared a message where she was congratulating his husband for his remarkable 500 test wickets.
Just on the same day when Ashwin claimed 500 wickets he had to return to his home due to his family medical emergency. But he came back again to the field on the 4th day of the Test and also got a wicket of Tom Hartley.
Now his wife, told about the situation that was happened,
βWe chased the 500 to Hyderabad, it didn’t happen. To Vizag, it didn’t happen. So I just bought a ton of sweets and gave it to everyone at home at 499. 500 came and went quietly. Till it didn’t. A lot happened between 500 and 501. Longest 48 hours of our lives.
But this is about the 500. And the 499 before that. What a phenomenal achievement. What a phenomenal guy. I am insanely proud of you @rashwin99 We love you!β
India is now 2-1 ahead of the 5 match Test series where England won the first match by 28 runs, India won the second match by 106 runs and the third one by 434 runs. The 4th test match will start from 23rd February in Ranchi.Β
Ashwin has shown his great potential in bowling especially in tests where he is considered to be one of the greatest spinners in current times. He completed the milestone of 500 in 98 matches which is 2nd fastest after Muthiah Muralidharan (87 matches).
