Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clinched the victory from the mouth of Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 1 run. In the last over 13 runs were needed and the men in pink got 12 runs.
Sunrisers scored 201/3 in 20 overs and Royals in reply posted 200/7 in 20 overs.
Rajasthan maintained their winning streak and their last victory came against Lucknow when they chased down the target easily whereas Hyderabad got defeat in their last encounter which came against CSK.
After winning the toss, Pat Cummins opted for batting as it favours the team most while batting first.
Sunrisers lost 2 wickets early at just 35 runs on the board. Then 96 runs were added for the 3rd wicket by Travis Head and Nitish Reddy. Head scored a brilliant half-century and scored 58 runs in 44 balls in which he hit 6 fours and 3 sixes.
While Nitish scored his IPL best after scoring unbeaten 76 runs in 42 balls. In his knock he hit 3 fours and 8 sixes with a strike rate of 180.95. He was well supported by Heinrich Klaasen who scored 42 runs in 19 balls and hit 3 fours and 3 sixes. Due to the knocks of these two the team got past the 200 mark.
Avesh Khan got 2 wickets while Sandeep Sharma got 1 wicket.
In the chase, Rajasthan struggled a bit at the start as they lost 2 wickets in the first at the score of 1 only. Then a brilliant 134 runs partnership built between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag.
Jaiswal scored 67 runs in 40 balls while Parag got 77 runs in 40 balls. Jaiswal hit 7 fours and 2 sixes while Parag went for 8 fours and 4 sixes. But after their departure things changed suddenly. Rovman Powell (27 runs) tried his best but missed the victory by just a few inches.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar got 3 wickets while Pat Cummins and T Natarajahn got 2 wickets each. Now Natarajan has 15 wickets to his name and got the purple cap.
