Rajat Patidar started the season with strings of low scores but as the tournament progresses he is getting back into his rhythm and showed his destruction with the bat. He scored 3 half-centuries till now with 211 runs under his credit. His strike rate also improved which is 175.83. Will Jacks and Cameron Green have shown mostly disappointments in their batting. But Green got some success in the bowling department as he has taken 6 wickets till now.
Dinesh Karthik is the reason behind RCB getting scores 200+ mostly. His power hitting makes the team reliable at the death overs. Till now he contributed 262 runs with a strike rate of 195.52 where he got past 50+ two times.
Looking at their bowling it is mostly weak as compared to the other teams in this season. They conceded many runs throughout the 20 overs match. Despite this they stopped the rampant batting army of Hyderabad in the last match.
Yash Dayal is the most successful bowler from the team with 8 wickets in his pocket. But his economy is close to 10, which is making him little expensive especially in the death overs. They are struggling to set their rhythm in a winning cause. They are known for fighting till the end, which they already proved in most of their matches but the finishing line always didn’t go into their favour. In the last match, it was looking like a hard dedication by the team in the winning cause but remained untouched by a close finish against DC. In the points table they are in 6th position with 8 points in 9 matches.
Skipper Shubman Gill is unable to show his performance like in the last season. Till now he has been decent with the bat after scoring 304 runs in 9 matches with a strike rate of 146.15. He has gone past 50+ twice in the season. He needs to be a little more consistent with his performance as he is the key batter in the team. On the other hand, Wriddhiman got past survival in the powerplay for the first time in this season which came in the last match. He needs to be a little more accurate with the shot selection as he is an aggressive player and has played IPL from the starting.
B Sai Sudharsan is the team’s leading run scorer with 334 runs. He got many 30’s and a couple of 40’s but in the last match he got past the 50 runs mark and scored his first half-century of the season after scoring 65 runs. He has been consistent with the bat till now and contributes in each match he plays. David Miller also broke the barrier of reaching the 50+ score in the last match. He played a destructive knock of 55 runs in 23 balls and took the team to a comfortable position but got dismissed before the finishing line and lost the match also.
Other finishers Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan were unable to set their consistency with the bat. Though Tewatia got some healthy runs with the bat in a couple of matches, Shahrukh is yet to perform better.
Rashid Khan is the MVP of the team. He not only contributed in bowling but also provided useful contributions in the batting. In his bowling he got 8 wickets with an impactful economy of 7.44. Mohit Sharma is the highest wicket-taker of the team in this season with 10 wickets to his name. But in the last match his spell was the IPL’s most expensive spell as he conceded 73 runs in 4 overs without getting any wicket. He broke the previous record of Bhasil Thampi’s spell in which conceded 70 runs in 4 overs and also took a wicket.
Sandeep Warrier looked promising in the last match as he got 3 wickets in 3 overs and only conceded 15 runs. Till now he has taken 5 wickets.
