Rajasthan Royals (RR) Shimron Hetmyer provided an unbelievable win against Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 3 wickets. His power hitting changed the match atmosphere into their favour.
Kings scored 147/8 in 20 overs and in reply Royals posted 152/7 in 19.5 overs.
Punjab in their last encounter almost nailed out a victory against SRH in the last moments but unfortunately lost the match by 2 runs while Rajasthan tasted their first loss in this season when Rashid Khan snatched the victory from their mouth.
After winning the toss, Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson goes bowling.
Shikhar Dhawan due to slight niggle was unable to play the match and in his absence Sam Curran got the opportunity to lead the team. Punjab was unable to score many runs due to regular fall of wickets. Ashutosh Sharma scored most runs for his team. He scored 31 runs in 16 balls which includes 1 four and 3 sixes. His power hitting took the team score close to 150, otherwise it was looking far behind before his arrival.
Jitesh Sharma scored 29 runs and was second highest in this match for the team. Liam Livingstone made his comeback but was unable to score much as he got only 21 runs with the bat.
Avesh Khan and Keshav Maharaj got 2 wickets each. Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult and Kuldeep Sen got 1 wicket each.
In the chase, Royals got a decent start as they posted 56 runs for the first wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal looked better with the shot selection in this match and scored 39 runs in 28 balls and hit 4 boundaries. Debutant Tanush Kotian scored 24 runs but played slowly as he took 31 balls to reach there.
Star performer this season for the team Riyan Parag also couldn’t contribute much as he credited 23 runs in 18 balls. But Shimron Hetmyer has decided something else for the team as he scored 27 runs in just 10 balls and took his team to a nail-biting finish. In his knock he hit 3 sixes and a boundary.
Kagiso Rabada and Sam Curran got 2 wickets each while Arshdeep Singh, Liam Livingstone and Harshal Patel got 1 wicket each.
