Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been diagnosed with retinal problem in his left eye, but he will keep playing cricket in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
He went to Singapore for his eye check-up where the reports came out to be some problems in his left eye.
Senior Physician of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Dr Debashis Chowdhury said, “Shakib has been complaining of subtle issues with his left eye. After consulting ophthalmologists in Bangladesh and abroad and after multiple eye assessments, it was confirmed that he is suffering from extrafoveal Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (CSR) of the left eye.
It has been decided that a conservative approach will be adopted for managing the issue for now. CSR is a condition that affects the retina, leading to visual disturbances. The medical team overseeing his case is optimistic about managing the condition effectively with a conservative approach.”
Shakib is currently playing for Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League. The owner of this franchise team has already mentioned that the health conditions of the skipper is their priority and they are not pushing him to play the matches, but also they hope his presence matters a lot in winning the games.
