Shakib Al Hasan’s heroics got Bangladesh 2nd win

Shakib Al Hasan’s brilliant performance in both the departments helped his team to register their 2nd victory of the tournament. They defeated Sri Lanka by 3 wickets

Sri Lanka posted 279/10 in 49.3 overs and Bengal Tigers chased down the target in 41.1 overs and scored 282/7. 

Lankans didn’t get a proper start as they lost 3 wickets in just 72 runs. Pathum Nissanka (41 runs) as usual carried his form and again provided some healthy runs at the start. Charith Asalanka (108 runs) scored his 2nd international century and his first in the World Cup. He was timing the ball well and hit 6 fours and 5 sixes in his knock. 

Also in this match for the first time ever in the history of cricket any player got out through timed out. That player was Angelo Mathews. He came into the ground and his helmet was not fitted after that he asked to change his helmet for which it takes too much time and then skipper Shakib asked the umpire for time out and the umpire after waiting for much time they gave him out.  

Asalanka made a 78 runs partnership with Dhanajaya de Silva (34 runs). Then in the end Maheesh Theekshana (22 runs) tried some good hands and with the help of their knocks Lankans managed 279 runs in 49.3 overs by losing all their wickets. 

Tanzim Hasan Shakib took 3 wickets but was expensive in his 10 overs spell as he gave away 80 runs. Shakib Al Hasan and Shoriful Islam both got 2 wickets each. Mehidy Hasan Miraz got 1 wicket

During the chase, Bengal Tigers lost both their openers at 41 runs. Then a strong partnership of 169 runs was generated between Shakib Al Hasan (82 runs) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (90 runs). Both of them looked great but missed their respective centuries. Shanto hit 12 fours while Shakib hit 12 fours and 2 sixes. 

Then in the end Towhid Hridoy (15 runs not out) took his team to the victory and scored 282 runs in 41.1 overs by losing 7 wickets. 

Dilshan Madushanka carried his brilliant wicket taking skills and got 3 wickets. Angelo Mathews and Maheesh Theekshana got 2 wickets each.
