PCB chairman’s bold claim on India’s CT participation

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, told his fellow colleagues that none of them will be given a single statement regarding the participation of India in the 2025 Champion Trophy.

There is still no confirmation given from BCCI, that the Men In Blue will take part in next year’s Champions Trophy, which will be hosted by Pakistan. Earlier some board members thought about India for the participation but now after their chief selector chose not to speak anything about this matter as ICC will take the final decision regarding this.

The board has submitted a draft schedule to the ICC in which all the matches of India will be played in Lahore. Now ICC will send their team in September to look out all the arrangements made by them and especially the security forces which will be there during the tournament.

According to some PCB insiders, after the decision was taken from Naqvi, the management didn’t make any comments on the Men in Blue’s participation and said, “That is why in recent days there is no comments or statement coming from either Naqvi or any other board official on what will happen if India doesn’t send its team to Pakistan.”

Earlier during the 2023 Asia Cup, India refused to go to Pakistan for the security concerns due to which Sri Lanka was the co-host and all the matches of Rohit Sharma and company were played in Lankan pitches. According to some sources, the same reason is cited by the BCCI for taking part in the 2025 ICC tournament.
