Pakistan added 1 more player in their Asia Cup squad

Since the Asia Cup has only two more days left Pakistan added one more player to their existing squad. Saud Shakeel was named as the added player. 

The 27 year old Shakeel who had a great average in Test (above 87) now gets a chance to be in the squad. But in ODI’s he didn’t have an impressive average as in Test and had an average of approx 19.

Saud Shakeel made his debut against England in 2021 in the ODI. but he didn’t get many chances in the playing 11. He gets a chance to play against Afghanistan, where in 3 match series he was able to play only a single game. In that match also he only scored 9 runs. 

Shakeel was added in the squad for the Afghanistan series only but now will be featured in the 17 member squad. Tayyab Tahir who was previously added to the 17 member for the Asia Cup, now has been named as the reserved player for the tournament. He was also in the Afghanistan series but didn’t get a chance to play a single game. 

According to the Asia Cup schedule, Pakistan will play the inaugural match against Nepal on 30th August 2023 at Multan.
