Mohammad Shami’s heated response to Inzamam-ul-Haq

The 2023 ODI World Cup highest wicket taker, Mohammad Shami, gives a befitting reply to former Pakistan chief selector and batter Inzamam-ul-Haq, for the allegations over Arshdeep Singh.

Shami who has been out from the Indian team after the 2023 ODI World Cup due to the injury and got his surgery done at the start of this year. He is willing to make his comeback to the national side and is frequently posting some clips in the social media regarding his fitness exercises.

Recently in the T20 World Cup, India faced Australia on June 24th, where Rohit and company got an upper hand over the Aussies by 24 runs. In that match, Indian pacer, Arshdeep Singh got some reverse swing and this made the ex-Pak batter furious and says that it is too early to get the reverse swing in that stage and throws some allegations over the Indian pacer.

Shami also faced the same allegations by former PAK player Hasan Raza, who said that Shami uses some kind of chip in his bowl to get the swing.

During a recent Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, the Indian pacer was asked the same question over the allegations made for him and Arshdeep, to which he replied,

“Apparently, I got a different type of ball in the World Cup. I even told in an interview that I would one day cut open the ball. In fact, I still have the Player of the Match ball with me. Abhi ek namuna aur khod ke diya hai innhone ki Arshdeep ne reverse kaise kardiya (Another person came up with a remark on how Arshdeep managed to reverse swing the ball).

I have only one thing to tell Inzamam-ul-Haq: if you can do it, you are a magician, but when others do it, you call it ball tampering. It’s unexpected when a player of his stature makes such comments. Take these cartoonish comments somewhere else. Getting the ball to reverse swing does not require any magic, you just need to maintain it properly.”

Earlier Men In Blue’s skipper Rohit Sharma also rejected the allegations made by the former PAK chief selector after saying, “each something to someone who taught it to the world.”
