Indian cricket team head coach, Gautam Gambhir, got two new assistant coaches. The two are Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate whereas T Dilip will continue his services as the fielding coach.
BCCI still haven’t cleared the role of the two new additions but they will be assisting the new head coach Gambhir in the upcoming Sri Lanka series in both T20 and ODI matches. Bowling coach of the team is not yet finalised but according to some reports former South African bowler Morne Morkel might fill that vacant place.
Nayar was the assistant coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and now only Chandrakant Pandit and Bharat Arun are the coaches left for Knight Riders. Dilip and Nayar will travel together for Colombo while Doeschate is currently the part of the coaching staff of LA Knight Riders in the ongoing Major Cricket League (MLC). It is said that he will directly join the team in Colombo and will travel from the USA.
Dilip was formerly in the coaching staff of Rahul Dravid and held the position of fielding coach. He will continue his services for the same position. It was also seen that under his guidance the team looked much relaxed and the dressing room scenarios were having positive vibes.
Doeschate and Nayar played a part for Knight Riders along with Gambhir and the bonding between them will help the team to get positive outputs.
There will be 3 T20s and 3 ODIs which will kick start from July 27th. India have already announced their squad for the upcoming series in which Suryakumar Yadav will lead the shortest format whereas Rohit Sharma will continue leading the ODI. Shubhman Gill be the vice-captain in both the formats.
