Kohli & Rohit showed strong hold on day 1 of 2nd Test.

Virat Kohli who plays his 500th international match is advancing towards his 76th international century. India have two good sessions 1st and 3rd while the 2nd session goes to the Caribbean team.

Firstly West Indies won the toss and they opted to bowl first. Although after losing the toss India skipper Rohit Sharma wanted to bat first in Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad. India put 288/4 in 84 overs at the end of the day.

Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a solid start to their team. For the 1st wicket they both put together 139 runs. Then Holder gives the first breakthrough to his team by taking the wicket of Jaiswal. Jaiswal again shows his great intent in batting and scores 57 runs. (139-1). Next man was Shubman Gill. He didn’t score much and got out on his score of 10 runs. Roach gets the credit and man in the gloves Joshua Da Silva took the catch. (153-2).

West Indies got no chill and took the wicket of well settled Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. He was looking in great touch but the delivery of Warrican and it hit the wickets. He departs after making 80 runs. (155-3). As the team seemed to be settling down then Gabriel came and dismissed Ajinkya Rahane. Ball took the edge of the bat and dodged the wickets and he went just before tea. He made 8 runs. (182-4).

After tea, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja played like a wall and they put together 106 runs till now. They both remain there at the end of the day. Kohli is playing at 87 runs and Jadeja is at 36 runs. Kohli is looking in great touch and he may make his 500th match memorable.

Roach, Gabriel, Holder and Warrican grabbed 1 wicket each.

Now it will be interesting to see whether India puts up a strong show or Caribbean bowlers create a huge hindrance to reach there.
