India appoints new bowling coach for Sri Lanka series

The Indian Cricket team has now got their bowling coach for the upcoming Sri Lanka series. Sairaj Bahutule has got the opportunity for this position.

But his position is not fixed as he will be the interim coach for the upcoming series. According to some sources it is said that Morne Morkel might get the opportunity to be the bowling coach. Morkel confirmation is not done yet as his father is not well and is currently living in Australia. It is expected that his announcement will be before the Bangladesh series which is going to start from September.

Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate have been selected as associated coaches for the Lankan series while T Dilip will continue serving as a fielding coach for the Men In Blue. Earlier it was expected that Doeschate will join the team directly in Colombo as he is currently associated in the coaching staff of LA Knight Riders in the Major League Cricket (MLC) but he will reach India in time and will travel to Colombo along with the other staff.

Bahutule is currently the bowling coach of National Cricket Academy (NCA). He was also associated with the national team for the same role earlier for quite some time, under former head coach Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman (served as a head coach in absence of Dravid).

He has a lot of experience in this role as he did coaching for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL and for domestic teams like Vidarbha, Bengal, Gujarat and Kerala.

He played 2 Tests and 8 ODIs for the team.
