Gill and Sudharsan revive GT’s Playoff hopes

Brilliant hundreds from the Gujarat Titans (GT) kept the hopes of Playoffs alive as they beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 35 runs.  

Titans scored 231/3 in 20 overs and in reply Super Kings managed 196/8 in 20 overs. 

In their previous meet, Chennai registered an easy win over Gujarat and won the match by 63 runs. 

After winning the toss, Ruturaj Gaikwad chooses to bowl. 

An unbelievable thing seen as in this season Gujarat was unable to get a solid opening partnership but in this match the openers posted 210 runs for the first wicket. It is highest till now for them in the IPL. 

Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan both scored centuries in this match. Gill scored 104 runs in 55 balls in which he hit 9 fours and 6 sixes while Sai hit his maiden century in the IPL and scored 103 runs in 51 balls, where he hit 5 fours and 7 sixes. 

Only Tushar Despande was able to get wickets and he took 2 to his name.  

In the chase, Chennai struggled as they lost 3 wickets in just 10 runs. Then some relaxation was provided by Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali as both of them added 109 runs for the 4th wicket. Mitchell scored 63 runs while Moeen scored 56 runs. Shivam Dube also tried his best but managed only 21 runs with the bat.

Towards the end, MS Dhoni showed some glances of power hitting. He scored unbeaten 26 runs in 11 balls and hit 1 four and 3 sixes. 

Mohit Sharma got 3 wickets while Rashid Khan got 2 wickets. Umesh Yadav and Sandeep Warrier got 1 wicket each.
