BCCI’s bold move for the selection committee

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) invites for the application of one national team selector. As there are two people from the same zone and as a result the north zone seat is still empty.

Ajit Agarkar who is the chief selector of the national side, has been from the west zone, while Salil Ankola is also from the same zone which is the west zone. Shiv Sundar Das is from the east zone, S Sharath is from the south zone and Subroto Banerjee is from the central zone. Therefore there is no one from the north zone and the seat is empty.

It is also expected that two members from the west zone one is Ajit Agarkar and the other is Salil Ankola and one of them will be there in the final. Salil Ankola is highly expected to be the one who will have to sacrifice his role.

Last date for the submission is 25th January 6 pm. Requirements for the applicants will be:

  1. Should have played a minimum 7 Tests or
  2. Should have played at least 30 first-class games or
  3. Should have played 10 ODIs.

Ajit Agarkar became the chief selector of the team in July. No further dates for the interview for the post are announced.
