BCCI pays tribute to Dhoni after retiring jersey no 7

BCCI has finally announced that the jersey number 7 will not be available further for any Indian players. This jersey belongs to the Indian legend MS Dhoni.

Dhoni retired from international cricket on 15th August 2020 and it has been three years since he took this decision, but now the officials have confirmed the news about the retirement of jersey number also as a tribute to him. MS contribution to the team has been recognised worldwide. Under his leadership the team won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 and then later on won the 2011 World Cup which was played in Indian subcontinent and then in 2013 he grabbed the Champions Trophy and in that Champions Trophy team remains unbeaten through the tournament and also won their practice matches.

Now he is playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) where he won the last 2023 season after defeating Gujarat Titans in the finals. It was also his 5th title.
