Brilliant bowling spell by the Indian spinners especially Ashwin and Kuldeep due to which the English team were unable to put a huge score on the board. India posted 307 runs in their 1st innings and England got 46 runs lead.
Then the English team bowled out on 145 runs and set the target 191 runs for the home team. India at the end of the day posted 40 runs without any loss of wickets.
India started the day with their day 2 score where Kuldeep Yadav and Dhruv Jurel left. Both of them showed great defence against the bowlers. Yadav on the other hand supported him after scoring 28 runs in 131 balls.

England in their 2nd innings were struggling as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Zak Crawley (60 runs) batted elegantly but didn’t get any proper support from the other end. Jonny Bairstow (30 runs) tried to pull up the things but he also departed after facing 42 balls.
As the pitch turned more than day 1 and 2, the Indian spinners confronted the opportunity very well. R Ashwin got 5 wickets whereas Kuldeep Yadav got 4 wickets in his pocket. Ravindra Jadeja got 1 wicket.
India during the chase posted 40 runs as the openers Rohit Sharma (24 runs not out) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (16 runs not out) remained unbeaten.
